The Department of Computer Science is committed to:

establishing and maintaining an internationally respected portfolio of pure and applied research in computer science.
delivering a high quality programme of taught courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, combining a solid foundation in the principles and theory of computation with an understanding of the problems and requirements of industry at regional, national, and international levels.
providing an environment for staff and students that encourages and enabling them to achieve their full potential.
promoting awareness of the legal, ethical, and moral issues associated with computing, and encouraging best practice when facing these issues.
